How it works…

Amber is fossilised tree resin which contains aromatic substances – terpenoids, that are released upon friction. When your pet wears an amber collar, the pine aroma is released from the resin and then absorbed back into its fur. The terpenoids are the reason ticks & fleas decide to abandon your pets coat. Although ticks do not have noses, the organs  located on their front legs can sense the scent of a potential host. The resin that is produced by a tree also protects the tree from attack by pests and fungi.

The second way that amber protects you pet is through its electrostatic properties. The friction that occurs between the amber and your pets fur builds up an electrostatic charge that helps to ‘zap off’ any aspiring fleas & ticks, neither of which like the electrostatic charge produced.

It takes from 1-2 weeks for the effects to begin to take place as the amber begins to slowly smooth out. The collar should be working to full effect after 3-4 weeks. For maximum effect, the collar should be worn 24 hours a day.
