Canagan

The Pet Parlour is one of the main Canagan stockists in Ireland, and we carry the range in full rather than the handful of lines most shops hold. Dog and cat, dry, wet and treats, in stock in Terenure and shipped nationwide.

Canagan is grain free across the entire range. Every recipe is built on a high proportion of named meat or fish with vegetables and botanicals and no grain filler, which makes it a straightforward choice for animals that react badly to wheat or maize, and for owners who want the ingredient list short and legible.

The dry food for dogs runs to Free-Run Chicken, Scottish Salmon, Grass-Fed Lamb, Country Game, Highland Feast, Insect Protein, a Free-Run Turkey recipe containing PlaqueOff for dogs with dental trouble, and a Light and Senior recipe for dogs that need fewer calories. Small breed versions are available in Free-Run Chicken, Country Game, Scottish Salmon and the Turkey PlaqueOff, and there is a large breed Free-Run Chicken in the 12kg bag.

The wet dog food is where the range is deepest and least well known. Eleven recipes in cans — Free Run Chicken, Country Game, British Beef, Chicken Hotpot, Shepherd’s Pie, Salmon and Herring Supper, Turkey and Duck Dinner, Chicken and Wild Boar Casserole, Venison and Wild Boar Stew, Puppy Feast and Senior Feast — which work as a complete feed or as a topper on dry. The Softies treats come in chicken, duck, quail and salmon.

For cats, the dry range is Free-Run Chicken, Scottish Salmon, Country Game and a Senior and Light recipe. The wet food is the 75g can range: chicken paired with crab, duck, ham, prawn, salmon, sardine or seabass, and tuna paired with chicken, crab, mussels, prawns or salmon, plus a fresh chicken can. Pouch multipacks are available in Free Run Chicken, Chicken and Salmon, Chicken and Turkey and Chicken and Duck. For a fussy cat, that variety is usually the point.
